Frequently asked questions
General
1. You send me an email with your attached logo images and that briefly describes how big you want your model either in inches or millimeters - IT MUST FIT ON A STANDARD PRINTER PLATE! Also include if you’d like your logo to be a magnet, the general size of the magnet, and the exact measurements of the magnet. An example of an email request would be similar to: “Hello! Attached is my logo images. I’d like my logo to be roughly 2 inches wide and 3 inches long. I’d also like a space for a magnet. My magnet is a circle and is 1 inch wide and 2.5mm thick. Let me know if this is possible!” If I determine that I can fulfill your request, then my work begins.
2. Once I believe I have your model complete, I will send you a screenshot of the model on the build plate for final approval/revisions.
3. You are allotted 2 free revisions before I start administering a revision fee of $5 per revision.
4. Once you have approved the model, you must send payment in order to receive the actual files. Payments can be made on the CASHAPP/VENMO/PAYPAL links you’ll receive in your email.
Logos to 3D is a digital service only. Once your logo request/images have been sent and approved, I will make a 3D model and send the files to you. You will receive a .3mf file and an .stl file (assuming any mesh booleans work correctly). REMINDER: the .stl file will not have the colors. If you want it to print with the already colored regions, you will have to open the .3mf in a 3D modeling program.
A .3mf file is a program file that includes all of the data of an STL file, but also colors, texture, and material that an STL won't have. This file can be opened in a 3D program such as Blender/BambuStudio/Autodesk so that you can view the model and change the printing specifications.
Yes, you can. However, please keep in mind that the .stl will not have different colored regions and will just be one solid color.
Yes, as long as your logo is not deformed due to the angle of the photograph and is clearly visible. However, it might take me longer to make it into a model as that will require more time.
No. Currently there is no best way to either render or print gradients. You would have to buy two-tone filament and remap the color in the .3mf yourself and even then, the colors of the 'gradient' likely won't end up where you want them.
Logos with simple shapes, colors, thick lines, and BOLD text. The process in which I render your logo into a vector format does not work well on very detailed/realistic logos. The simpler, the better. But cartoon characters tend to handle the process well enough.
I need a photo/jpg of your logo (preferably a jpg/png/screenshot) and specific measurements of how big you'd like your model to be in either inches or millimeters. For example: "I'd like my 3D logo to be 2 inches wide and 3 inches long."
Yes, but I will need the exact measurements of the magnet(s) you intend to use in order to make the indentation(s) the right size. I will also add an extra 2-4mm of wiggle room as sometimes the printer nozzle size/layer height can cause an ill fit.
Most consumer level 3D printers are able to hold a maximum of 4 different color reels. This keeps the model simple enough for anyone with such a printer.
No. I am able to model, but I do not have the resources to print. I will do my best to make models optimized for consumer level 0.4mm nozzle printers, but any actually printing will have to be handled on your end.
